After completion of the airport formalities like immigration, baggage collection, and customs clearance, proceed to the arrival hall. Here you will be met and greeted by the chauffeur and then transferred to the Sheraton Hotel.

Muscat City tour

Today you will enjoy the wonderful half-day (Duration 04 Hours) Muscat City tour.

The tour starts with the visit to the Grand mosque of Oman, completed in 2001, and is one of the biggest mosques in the world. The mosque features a blend of Islamic, Middle Eastern, and Omani architectural styles, and hosts one of the world’s largest handmade Persian rugs and one of the world’s biggest crystal chandeliers. Proceed the tour with a photo stop at 16th Centuries Portuguese forts, Jalali and Mirani, and Al Alam Palace – the official residence of the Sultan. Visit the Bait Al Zubair museum for a fine display of Omani culture and history.

Later proceed to visit the famous Mattrah Souq - one of the oldest markets in Oman. The narrow covered alleys of souq are where you can smell exotic aromas of mounds of spices and alluring perfumes that fill the environment. You can also buy souvenirs and gifts. The market is located at the ancient sea-front promenade Corniche, on a bay which ships visited from every part of the world.

Stop at Wadi Bani Khalid

Today we take you to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the biggest and most beautiful Wadis in Oman. Wadi Bani Khalid, a picturesque wadi surrounded by green palm trees, sets the perfect example for a true oasis. Enjoy swimming in the deep blue cool water, sunbathing, and a short walk approximately 10 to 15 minutes (walking shoes are required)

Stop at Wahiba Sand

Continue the journey to the desert Wahiba Sands. This spectacular Desert stretches over 200 kilometers from the Eastern Hajar Mountains to the Arabian Sea, the Wahiba Sands are also known as Oman’s adventure playground. The desert offer activities like an adventurous 4x4 drive in the sand dunes, camel rides, and zipping through the dunes on a sandboard or quad bike. ( Activities charges are additional).

You can also watch the stunning sunset on one of the big sand dunes. Finish the day with the scrumptious dinner in the camp.

Today starts a journey with a visit to heritage places of Oman.

Visit Bahla

Bahla is a UNESCO World Heritage site town that lies in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of Oman. It is one of the oldest fortresses (13th-century fortress) in the country. You can have a visit to the pottery factory and experience traditional Omani handcrafts at Bahla.

Visit Jibreen Castle

Jibreen Castle is the best example that reflects Omani culture through its ancient Arabian style of workmanship. Jabrin Castle is one of the whimsical and well-preserved castles in Oman that was built in the 1600s. Don’t forget to observe the fine calligraphy etched into the walls, hand-painted ceilings, hand-carved door frames, decorative arches, windows, and balconies, when here! You’ll find an auto-guide that lasts 25 mins near the entrance that would fill you in with all the necessary details.

Continue the journey to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman, Nizwa. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner in the hotel.

Visit Nizwa Fort & Souq

Nizwa, an ancient Nizwa Fort whose history dates back to the 12th century. It was built by Sultan Bin Saif Yaruba, the first imam of the Yaruba Dynasty. The fort is famous for its massive circular cannon tower, antiques, and silver jewelry. When inside the fort, you’ll be thrilled to pass through its ancient doorways, narrow staircases and corridors, high-ceiling halls, and a maze of rooms. As Nizwa is a town that is surrounded by date palms, one can enjoy an amazing view of the entire town and its date plantation from the top of the tower.

After the fort, visit traditional Nizwa Souq, a place where a wide variety of vendors offer their goods, vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, Omani sweet (Halwa) dates, spice, and souvenirs. Another attraction is the Friday cattle market when the locals from the nearby villages come to sell their cattle and chickens in a circus-style open marketplace.

Stop at Birkat Al Mouz

Continue visit to Birkat Al Mouz. It is one of the most famous villages in ruins of the country and home to the traditional Falaj irrigation system. This irrigation system is listed as a UNESCO world heritage and supplies water to date palms, and vegetables for many orchards. It's worth spending some walk around the old part of the village which offers picturesque surroundings, two old ruins, and a large banana plantation that is encircled by tall mountains.

Jebel Akdhar

Continues to Jebel Akhdar also known as "Green Mountain" which is considered one of the most scenic areas in Oman. This mountain range is part of the Al Hajar Mountains and is mostly composed of limestone and forms one of the highest peaks in Oman. The moist land of Jebel Akdhar allows the growth of trees and shrubs that produce fruits such as pomegranates, walnuts, etc.

Jebel Akdhar 

You can enjoy the view of the lush gardens on the top plateau and see impressive fruit and vegetable gardens, which are built on

terraces on the side of the mountain.

Take a beautiful scenic walk along the edge of the mountain and through some villages. You will enjoy the spectacular views over the deep valley and the garden plantations.

Visit the famous rose gardens. The man-made terraces in the villages of Al Ain, Al Shiraijah, and Al Aqua are covered in pink with native roses. Over the centuries rose distillers in Jebel Akhdar wait for the spring season to bloom. The rose water is kept in clay urns for ninety days until the distillation process is complete. The rose harvesting season is from March-May.
