On the way, we will first visit the small seaside town Barka famous for it’s fish market and famous Omani sweets “halwa” factory.
After we will continue towards fort Nahal. The meaning of the name “Nahal” in English is palm, and the fort got it’s name due to the palm tree oasis surrounding the fort. There are around 10 thousand trees in this oasis. Fort was built around a large, oddly shaped boulder at the base of Mount Nakhal, which occasionally juts out into the fort’s interior. Surrounded by a palm tree oasis fort Nahal looks very impressive and is considered one of the most beautiful forts in Oman. There are also hot springs in Al Tuaya located here.
We will continue our tour and the winding road will bring us to our next location fort Rustaq, the residence of Imam Ahmad Ibn Said and one of the most beautiful forts of Oman. After the fort visit, we will stop near the hot springs. Local people consider that the water in hot springs has many healing properties.
